LUBBOCK, TX, October 1, 2013 – Americot, Inc., a leading supplier of premium cotton seed, is pleased to announce the addition of two veteran Southwest cotton Sales Representatives, Jimmy Newsom and Richard Percival.  Newsom will be responsible for servicing cotton growers, consultants and seed dealers from Snyder east to Seymour, and south to I-20; and Percival in areas including San Angelo, Midland and south of Big Springs.

“We’re excited about these two long-time cotton seed veterans joining our team,” says Americot General Manager Terry Campbell.  “Newsom has been involved with Southwest cotton for 30 years, and Percival has been selling cotton seed since 1985.  These two well-known, well-respected men will help accelerate Americot’s growth here in the Southwest.

“According to the recent 2013 USDA cotton varieties planted report, Americot increased its national market share by 2.5%; it’s now 12.5%–and that increase occurred in a year when cotton acreage dropped drastically.  We have 20.2% market share in the Southwest—for four years in a row.  Additionally, we have the number 7 (NG 4111 RF) and 9 (NG 1511 B2RF) most planted varieties in 2013.”

Newsom says, “I’m a former cotton grower and ginner and I’ve sold cotton seed for 9 years.  West Texas growers need high yielding, good grading cotton for their irrigated production, and they need varieties that work with less water.  Americot varieties fill those needs.  West Texas also has a verticillium wilt problem; Americot has several excellent wilt resistant varieties that have high yield potential.  For example, NG 1511 B2RF is probably as an all around, high yielding irrigated, yet works well on dryland, variety as any cotton I know.”

Percival adds, “West Texas growers demand quality planting seed, and appreciate year-round service.  We’re in a large dryland market, so growers also want good price and, of course, product performance. Americot offers the whole package.”

Americot, Inc., headquartered in Lubbock, Texas, provides Southwest, Midsouth and Southeast cotton growers with quality planting seed of varieties that offer high yield potential and excellent fiber quality with the technologies that growers want and need.  For more information on NexGen® brand and Americot® brand cotton products, call 888.678.7333 or go to www.americot.com.

LUBBOCK, TX, July 25, 2013 – Americot, Inc., a leading supplier of premium cotton seed, is pleased to add Sales Representative Michael Williams, whose name is well-known in the Southeast cotton industry.  Williams will be responsible for servicing cotton growers, consultants and seed dealers in Georgia, Florida and South Alabama.

Americot General Manager Terry Campbell notes that Williams has extensive ties with the Southeast cotton industry.  “We are excited to have Michael on the Americot team,” Campbell says.  “His late father, Darrell Williams, was the manager of the SunBelt Ag Expo in Moultrie, Georgia from 1980 to 2008.  The Expo’s research farm is named after him, The Darrell Williams Research Farm.

“Michael’s past personal involvement in the Ag Expo and other facets of the Georgia cotton industry will help Americot’s presence grow even faster in this critical area of U.S. cotton production.”

This native Georgian earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration of Organization Leadership, LaGrange College, Georgia.  In addition to serving as Farm-Site Manager for the SunBelt Ag Expo, he has worked for AIMTrac, a Case IH dealer.

“I was 10 years old when my father became manager of the SunBelt Ag Expo in 1980,” Williams says.  “So I grew up with the Expo farm being like a family farm. Throughout my life, I became interested in the farm’s research, along with working side-by-side with University of Georgia researchers and numerous company reps.  It was my early childhood experience at the Expo that led me to want a career in agriculture.

“I am excited to no end at going to work for Americot. I grew Americot varieties for two years at the Expo. I fell in love with the cotton and at that point I began to see where Americot could have a large place in the Southeast.  Additionally, Americot only does cotton, nothing else. This gives the farmer a unique one-on-one experience with his Americot rep from beginning to end.”

Williams and his wife, Amy, have three daughters:  Courtney, 18; Savanna, 16; and Payton, 16.  They live in Moultrie, Georgia.
